2026 Chevy Equinox: Exterior
The 2025 Equinox saw an overhaul in terms of design as the first year of the vehicle’s fourth generation. The 2026 model carries over most of those updates with minimal changes, though what has changed is exciting.
The overall size of the 2026 model is slightly larger than the 2025 model, but only as far as the exterior is concerned; the interior dimensions remain the same. The grille and fascia have been updated to be wider and a bit sportier to live up to the SUV moniker. The headlights have also slimmed down a bit, with thinner LEDs taking their place. Roof rails have been removed from 2025’s Convenience package and placed in the Midnight Edition package. Lastly, the big change for the 2026 Chevy Equinox exterior is the new Polar White Tricoat finish, which replaces 2025’s Iridescnt Pearl Tricoat.
2026 Chevy Equinox: Interior
The 2026 Chevy Equinox doesn’t differ too much from the 2025 model inside the cabin, though the materials are a little softer to the touch to impart a sense of luxury. The physical drive mode selector, which was only on the ACTIV and RS trims for 2025, is now standard on all trims for the 2026 version. Chevy also tweaked the design of the vehicle to make the cabin a little quieter compared to the 2025 model. It still can seat up to five passengers comfortably with 104.3 cubic feet of passenger volume; max cargo clocks in at 63.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
New Equinox Safety and Tech
The 2026 Chevy Equinox keeps the standard 11.3” infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity standard across all trims. Wireless charging pads and a premium audio system are available features for those who want the extra comforts. Safety features remain largely unchanged, though the 2026 model adds in intersection auto emergency braking and lane centering to the standard suite instead of being available upgrades.
2026 Equinox Trims and Specs
The 2025 and 2026 Chevy Equinox models feature the same engine and drivetrains: a 1.5L, turbo four-cylinder worth 175 horsepower and your choice of front-wheel drive (standard) or all-wheel drive (available). FWD gets a continuously variable transmission; AWD gets an eight-speed auto transmission.
